Market Close 24 Feb 22: Worst decline in 17 months for Aussie market

The Australian sharemarket slumped by 3%, making it the worst day in 17 months for the ASX 200. The catalyst was Russia conducting a 'special military operation' in Ukraine. BHP Group (BHP) was the most significant weight after trading ex-dividend.
