In the opening message of the Rhythms of Rest series, “The Gift of Stopping,” we explore the sacred invitation to pause and embrace rest as a fundamental part of God's design for our lives. Rooted in Genesis 2:1–3, this sermon challenges the cultural glorification of busyness by uncovering the true meaning of Sabbath — not merely as recovery from exhaustion, but as a celebration of completion and a holy rhythm woven into creation itself. Through practical steps like practicing stopping before finishing, intentionally unplugging, and scheduling soul-filling activities, we are called to reclaim rest as a divine gift that restores, reconnects, and reorients us toward God.
