From Wikipedia: "Chapterhouse were a British shoegaze band from Reading, Berkshire, England. Formed in 1987 by Andrew Sherriff, Stephen Patman and Simon Rowe, the band began performing alongside Spacemen 3. They released two albums: Whirlpool (1991) and Blood Music (1993). The group temporarily reformed in 2008 after being asked to join Ulrich Schnauss onstage to perform his cover version of their song "Love Forever" at the Truck Festival in Oxfordshire. The band finished the brief reunion with two gigs in London (2009–2010) and tours in North America and Japan in 2010."

Chapterhouse were of three parts in their sound: Lush guitars and hushed vocals or dance music percussion and keyboards along with guitars and louder vocals or punky loud rock songs. The quintet released several EP's, two full-lengths: Whirlpool and Blood Music, a Best Of, a collection called Rownderbowt that contained demos that would have become their third album, and, most recently a six disc box set called Chronology. There is also the Global Communication ambient retranslation of Blood Music called Pentamerous Metamorphosis. You can find most, if not all, on vinyl reissued in black or colored vinyl. Chronology is on CD.
While I missed out on seeing Chapterhouse live in their early days, I had the pleasure of seeing them at The Troubadour in West Hollywood in 2010 when they toured the States with Ulrich Schnauss. They also played a few dates in the UK and toured Japan in 2010. Several recordings from those reunion shows are featured in this set. With such a short career and dearth of released material, Chapterhouse are still one of my favorite bands to this day and hold a special place in my heart.
