Are we performing to please the crowd? If we take that into our relationship with God, we will miss out on the better things he has for us. Likewise, if our religious habits in public are not matched with the character of Jesus in our private and personal lives, then it’s just a put on, a meaningless display of fake piety. There is only one cure for this: repentance.
