The Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes says Ireland could not accept any consolidation of its corporate taxes. But he said he didn’t see any difficulty with agreeing to an outline proposal on a corporate tax base. Mr Hayes was reacting to the announcement of new EU plans for a Europe-wide corporate tax base. Last night in the European Parliament the European Commissioner for Economic and Financial affairs Pierre Moscovici outlined proposals for a common consolidated corporate tax base in Europe. During his address Mr Moscovici said all businesses big or small will pay their taxes where they are making their profits and creating wealth. Here’s Brian Hayes.
