SouthAfrican Labour Law Amendment Bill

2020-11-20

Parliament is considering the biggest changes to South Africa’s labour law since 1995. If passed into law, they will positively affect young workers who still need maternity and paternity leaves and those who want to adopt. Most significantly they will limit the hard-won rights of workers to strike.  Despite the fact that three major Federations were consulted if these proposed amendments become law it will be a significant defeat for workers.
