Novena for the Holy Souls in Purgatory - Day 2 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Make an Act of Contrition. You can use any form; simply ask God to pardon your sins and make a firm purpose of amendment not to commit them again. Spiritual Communion: My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen. Dear Lord, we trust in Your infinite goodness. We praise Your justice and implore Your mercy upon all the holy souls who are suffering in Purgatory as they await their eternal Heavenly rest with You. Many of us have grieved the death of our relatives. You know the depths of our sufferings in grief, but You give us great hope in Your mercy. Your justice demands that all souls be totally purified before coming into Your presence in the Beatific vision, and You mercifully allow us to participate in this mystery through our prayers for the dead.
