No concrete Brexit proposals from UK side – McGuinness

The EU’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier will discuss the latest round of Brexit talks with MEPs in the European Parliament in Strasbourg tomorrow.

Yesterday the UK prime minister met with the president of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.  However the EU said Boris Johnson didn’t provide any working alternatives to the backstop in the Brexit withdrawal agreement.

The Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuinness says it’s unlikely any progress will be made until the Conservatives hold their party conference.
