European Parliament Group leaders approve Flextension – McGuinness

The European Parliament’s Group leaders this morning approved a flexible Brexit extension to the end of January.

The Group is recommending that the European Council accepts the UK’s recent request for an extension to Article fifty.

And they’re calling for an option that the extension period could end earlier should the ratification of the Withdrawal Agreement be approved by both the UK and the EU.

The Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuinness says the EU twenty seven countries will have to be patient while the UK resolves the Brexit dilemma.
