The Crow (1994)

Let's ease into the Halloween season with a film dripping in gothic aesthetic. The Crow was released in 1994 and influenced countless action films that followed, both in aesthetic choices and in behind the scenes safety. 

On the anniversary of his death Eric Draven, returns from the dead as an avenging dark angel to wreak havoc on the vicious gang who murdered him and his fiancé.

Any discussion of this film must mention the tragic passing of actor Brandon Lee who was sadly killed when a prop gun was mishandled on set and Lee was shot. This lead to changes in the industry regarding firearm safety. However as we've seen in recent years a lot of work remains to be done.
