Jiu-Jitsu is in the midst of a renaissance. The old days of prescribed 3 piece classes and drilling are becoming a thing of the past. With the advent of greater communication, connectivity, and more powerful orators coming to the fore, Jiu-Jitsu is stepping away from it's atypical martial arts heritage, and embracing a deeper conceptual future.
Hailing from Swansea, Wales, Omied Jalalian-Khakshour is one of these skilled orators.
The Black Belt coach of CF24 (and thus of some incredible emerging talent on the competition scene), Omied has created a highly systematic approach to the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu, creating one of the most substantial frameworks that his students can then rely on throughout their Jiu-Jitsu career.
In this podcast we cover what inspired him to create this system, despite coming from a more traditional BJJ education, and how he is using it to turn out an increasing number of world class athletes.
In this episode we do talk about Omieds essay on Pressure Passing, which is now posted in the Discord channel.
