Market Close 5 June 19: Aussie market extends gains as banks lead improvements

The local sharemarket has lifted for a second consecutive session following the RBA rate cut decision yesterday. The ASX 200 rose 26.1 points or 0.41% to 6358.5 but ended well off session highs. Financials were the main driver of gains while defensives such as gold and healthcare stocks weighed most.
