This kind of tragedy has happened before. One of them resulted in even greater loss of Canadian life - the Air India terrorist bombing of 1985, which took off from Montreal and exploded over the Atlantic. There's much to learn from every tragedy. What did we learn from Air India? What mistakes did the government and media make? What did they get right? And how can those lessons be applied to reduce the human cost to the loved ones and friends of those who died on Ukrainian International Airlines Flight 752?
Both our guests have very direct, very different personal connections to the Air India bombing and offer their reflections, experience and advice on a very human level.

Taleeb Noormohamed was the director of the Air India review secretariat, responsible for all activities related to the review of the bombing investigation and the final report issued by bob rae, including coordinating with agencies of the Canadian government including the RCMP, CSIS and Transport Canada as well as with foreign government and working with the families of the victims.
