September is National Disaster Preparedness Month across the country and the University of Illinois Extension are doing their part to raise awareness of being disaster ready. With Hurricane Ida the latest example of the unpredictable nature of disaster, the Extension is using its platform to remind you to be ready in case of a natural disaster, like a hurricane, or a more personal type of disaster like a house fire. Make sure you have a plan for where your family should go if a disaster strikes and make sure your family has the important things they need at the ready in case of emergency.
