Meet Dalton Wesley-Goins MacBeth!

I am Dalton Wesley-Goins MacBeth. I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and developed Cerebral Palsy shortly after birth due to being born at 27 weeks. I was raised in southeastern Ohio in two Pentecostal denominations: the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) and the Assemblies of God. As I grew, I was always curious about faith and started to discern a call to ministry after being baptized at five and starting to speak in tongues at 8. When I was fifteen, I moved to Nicaragua and served as Pentecostal missionary for a year during my senior year of high school.  The next six years, I spent at Lee University (the Church of God college) studying a B.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, a B.A. in Theology, and an M.A. in Theology. During this process, I also became an ordained minister in the Church of God. Since 2018, I have had to wrestle with queerness, racism, Christian nationalism, and COVID-19 in a way that has led me to settle and seek ordination in the United Methodist Church. I am an avid reader, history butt, traveler, Cincinnati and Ohio State sports fan. Grey's Anatomy fan, and Swiftie!
