Psychologist and Magician Dr Matt Tompkins joins us to discuss the brand new Smoke & Mirrors: The Psychology of Magic exhibition, which runs until September 15^th at The Welcome Collection gallery in London.

Matt discusses his live performances as part of the exhibition, the artefacts within the collection, why mediums and mentalism strike a chord with the general public, psychology and magic and much more.

He also tells us all about his new book, produced in collaboration with the exhibition, The Spectacle of Illusion: Magic, the paranormal and the complicity of the mind. The book traces the evolution of the arts of magic and illusion from the 18^th century onwards.
