Talking Tricks with Kane & Abel
Arts:Performing Arts
Psychologist and Magician Dr Matt Tompkins joins us to discuss the brand new Smoke & Mirrors: The Psychology of Magic exhibition, which runs until September 15th at The Welcome Collection gallery in London.
Matt discusses his live performances as part of the exhibition, the artefacts within the collection, why mediums and mentalism strike a chord with the general public, psychology and magic and much more.
He also tells us all about his new book, produced in collaboration with the exhibition, The Spectacle of Illusion: Magic, the paranormal and the complicity of the mind. The book traces the evolution of the arts of magic and illusion from the 18th century onwards.
