Avoiding sexual sins

When she was a teenager, this young woman signed a pledge with the other young people at the Baptist church vowing that she would not have sex until she was married.

She became pregnant when she was 17 and then married and divorced after having two children.  Then remarried.  Then had abortion with child of second husband because that is what husband wanted her to do.

After she was born again she grieved over these things, especially over the dead child from the abortion.

We are forgiven our sins after we are born again but there are sometimes still the memories troubling us.

By our own will power, we usually fail.

But if we turn to God asking HIM to help us, we succeed.

And if we have The Word on the issue, it can help us greatly through God's strength.

That Word reinforces our spiritual house that we are building.

The Word:

At the time of sexual intercourse the two become one flesh:

I Corinthians 6

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith HE, shall be one flesh.

(Even if the woman is a prostitute, you become one flesh with her at the time of sexual intercourse.  Do you really want to do this?)

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

(Sexual sins are sins against your own body.  Sexual sins are different from all other sins.)

 

It is not simply a matter of birth control.  It is a sin against yourself and a sin against the Word of God.

 

And sex joining you to that other person fragments your soul for you can't separate by walking away.  That, being one flesh, stays with you whether you think so or not.

 

Truths from Bible help greatly.

 

And in the temptation, you can escape if you will do the following:

 

Ask God to help you.  Ask God not to let you do this.

 

God is more powerful than our flesh.

 

(Teach your children these things.)

 

Many young women today live as unpaid whores.

 

God says:

 

Deuteronomy 23:17  There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
