Day 63: Numbers 21-22

Today on Meditating the Word, we read about the destruction of Arad; the Bronze snake on the pole; the Journey to Moab; the defeat of Sihon and Og; and Balak, Balaam and the talking Donkey.

This is Day 63. We will be reading Numbers 21-22

Father God, How I love your Word! Again, we see Jesus in the account of the serpent on the pole -- a symbol of Jesus on the cross. And we are reminded that as long as we keep our eyes on him, we will be saved. But when we look at our circumstances, that's when we run into trouble. And the account of Balaam, and how you used a donkey... how can I ever doubt, Father, that you can use me. If you can give a donkey words to speak, surely I can trust Holy Spirit to speak through me. Help me to keep my eyes on Jesus and speak only your Words, Father. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
