Happy New Year Sister-Friend 👋🏽
I hope you had a blessed Christmas week and managed to strike the balance between rest and fun. I had a lovely holiday; I spent time with my favourite people and doing my favourite activities, which included cozying up in front of the fireplace and watching reruns of my favourite Christmas movies. I did have a good balance between socializing and sleeping, and I am blessed to be here with you, starting the new year off together.
The new year is a time when people tend to make resolutions for what they want to do, and as you think about what’s next, you might have some disappointment around things you did not accomplish in 2023.
Having unmet goals does not feel good; depending on the trauma history, it can cause you to feel like a failure or affect your self-esteem and your outlook on life. When the self-esteem begins to wane, it impacts how you show up in different areas of life. Then the internal conversation starts, those little mental gremlins that quickly suggest you are not good enough, or not trying hard enough, or you will never get to where you want to go.
In this episode, we’ll explore three steps to deal with that disappointment and in the next episode we will look at strategies to ensure 2024 is better for you.
I hope this episode supports you.
Blessings and Love 😊
