We live in an unending revolt of the civilized against civilization. We long to return to a simpler life, to return to our native state. Why not make up your own imaginary tribal past. The problem is that the primitive life was not the paradise romantics imagine. Listen to part 2 of "Lust For The Mud" and hear why belief in this alfuring myth has caused much harm. This "Designer Tribalism" myth is based on the concept of "The Noble Savage" which was created by Jean Jacque Rouseau in the 18th century. Unfortunately, it still informs our government policies.
