Morning Report 7 May 20: US sharemarkets were mixed on Wednesday

Stocks that benefit from the 'stay at home' market rose with Amazon up 1.4%. Shares in General Motors rose 3.0% after first-quarter profit beat market forecasts. At the close of trade, the Dow Jones index was down 218 points or 0.9%. The S&P500 index was down 0.7% but the Nasdaq index was up by 45 points or 0.5%.
