Understanding the Difference Between Hope and Faith

Jesus said that faith, hope, and love remain. Hope and faith aren’t the same. Hope is in the future—a confident expectation of something we look forward to, a blueprint of what we desire. Faith is now! It’s the evidence, the present assurance, the title deed to what we’re hoping for. We attach faith to what we hope for, and by faith we receive it. Without hope in something, our faith has nothing to adhere to; and without faith, we can’t receive what we hope for. We will receive what we hope for if we don’t let up on our faith, keeping it attached to that hope.
