One of the most essential emotional intelligence skills I've learned over the years, both from my research and my experience training people is to drop into the heart to connect with the wisdom of your heart. Especially for people who spend most of their times, up in their head.

And if you know you are someone who is a bit too emotional and too much in the heart, then you need to live a bit more up in the head to maximize the power of your mind, your logic and cognitive thinking.

The best strategy is to combine the two and create a balance, now you have the perfect ingredients to communicate your negative emotions intelligently.
