Market Close 21 August 19: ASX 200 gives up recent gains as banks and miners weigh on Index

The ASX 200 closed down 61.7 points or 0.94 per cent to 6,483.3 after being down by as much as 78 points just before lunchtime. This comes after a 173 point fall in the US last night. Almost every sector closed lower today led by the materials and financial sectors.
