1 Peter 1:23–2:3

Introduction:

 

A faith that is growing is a faith that will stand firm.

 

1. A Faith in God’s Eternal Word (vv. 23–25)

 

 

2. A Faith that Eliminates Sin (v. 1)

 

 

3. A Faith Elevated by Cultivating a Desire for God’s Word (vv. 2–3)

 

Psalm 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!

 

Quote: “We don’t realize the sweetness of God’s Word until we have felt something of the sweetness of the Savior’s presence.”

 

Quote: “The point is that if you are not growing in your knowledge of Christ, then you are failing to achieve God’s purpose for giving you the Bible, no matter what else you are learning from it.”

 

Conclusion:

 

1. Devotions—Commit to reading your Bible every day for the next 3 months.

 

2. Life Group—Attend a Life Group for the next 3 months.

 

3. Worship—Come with a heart to grow spiritually, and worship God.
