The Golden Gaytimes' original iteration was as The Get Rich Quick Scheme – a cover band full of hijinks and nonsense which seemed to resonate with the audience. When COVID hit and gigging stopped, the burgeoning success of The Get Rich Quick Scheme was cut short.

So, the next thing you know they were writing some originals and did a band trip to Rous Mill Studio to get some tracks down. They recorded five or six of the songs at Rous Mill in August 2021 and then the rest were done over the course of the first half of 2022 at Round the Twist studio. As the single 'I'm Tempted' (400k+ views on YouTube!) establishes, this is a band that thrives on great riffs, heady grooves and a strong sense of fun and irreverence, as Jane-O confirms, "Some of our songs can be a bit dark if you go where they are meant to go.
