Sadly, when summer rolls around, there are a lot of people eyeing up their summer clothes with disdain, anxiety and immense sadness. Whether it’s struggling to fit into clothes after lockdown, or staring down at the size of your jeans and wondering why you can’t fit into them – body image issues are prevalent.
Summer seems to be the biggest breeding ground for these feelings, with ‘bikini body’ narratives plastered everywhere, and the assumption that any skin you show has to be tanned, unblemished and toned into oblivion.
Well, we’re human.
Some humans have stretch marks, cellulite, acne and jiggly bits. And that’s fine.
