Members of the European Parliament have called for action to be taken to stop the ‘alarming’ spread of Lyme disease in Europe.
MEPs in Strasbourg backed a motion demanding the European Commission draw up a plan to combat the tick borne disease.
Irish representatives have expressed concern over the level of knowledge about the debilitating condition in Ireland and the treatment available.
