The495 Podcast hit the road for Episode 16, where hosts Mike White and Nick Esposito chatted with Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling, formerly the head writer of The Howard Stern Show. Martling, who still performs standup across the island and beyond, has been doing comedy since the 1970s, and is a life-long Long Islander now living in Bayville. He recently published biographical accounts of his life in the book The Joke Man: Bow to Stern. Nick and Mike sat with Martling in his kitchen, where they talked Stern, the history of jokes and what makes Long Islanders funnier than everyone else.
