He explained that the fire was the costliest in US history and the worst natural disaster in California's history. Arjang also discussed the financial challenges many in the community faced, as insurance coverage was insufficient and government aid was delayed. He mentioned that some people had no insurance, and even those who did were underinsured, covering only a third or a quarter of the value of their homes. Arjang also highlighted the issue of not having access to their equity in the building for an unknown period. Dr. shared their experience as a therapist and their understanding of how people cope with different types of disasters. They highlighted the importance of community support and the resilience of individuals in the face of adversity. Arjang discussed the emotional impact of losing possessions during an evacuation. He shared his experience of losing oil paintings, Persian rugs, and other cherished items, emphasizing the importance of taking as much as possible during an evacuation.
