047 - Things are not always how they seem

The safety of female travellers has been at the top of all discussions this week. I have briefly spoken about the scariest incident that I have had while travelling alone in previous episodes. I was woken by a threatening phone call to my room, I later learnt it was a staff member from the resort I was staying at. The resort was the Majestic Elegance Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. When I started this podcast my aim was to be honest and open and not shy away from serious topics. Last week a woman released her horrific story of being brutally attacked at this same resort. 

I have chosen to share more details about my experience at this resort in support of Tammy Lawrence-Daley. I do not believe the world is a scary place. I do believe that this resort is not safe for women.
