Eamonn Torsney talks to the Fine Gael MEP Deirdre Clune on the vote last week in the European Parliament on having cleaner cars on EU roads by 2030.
MEPs have proposed setting a target of 40% (forty percent) for reducing EU fleet-wide CO2 emissions for new cars by 2030. They want an intermediate target of 20% by 2025.
The European Parliament also voted for a speedier market uptake of electric and low-emission cars.
The interview was conducted before the vote.
