Famine of the words of The Lord

Amos 8:11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord…wandering…running to and fro…seeking…not finding…

 Why? – There are too many voices.

But…there is a hunger for reality – to hear a clear voice - ‘Please tell me - what is going on?’

‘1Corinthians 14:10 There are, it may be, so many kinds (genos) of voices (phone – tone and intent) in the world, and none of them is without significance

All voices have a tone and an intention - and an effect on the hearer.

Hebrews 4:7 “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Paul’s words –

2Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; tossed about, but not destroyed;…So death is at work in us, but life in you. (necessary suffering)

 Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

 Jeremiah 9:24 but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.

 Jeremiah 29:11 I know what I'm doing.  Jeremiah 31:3 I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. Again I will restore you, and you shall be restored.
