KEEPING IT REAL - A CHILD MURDERED. CITY SHOCKED. DOMESTIC ABUSE MUST STOP.

On October 30, 2019 the news of an innocent 3 year-old child stabbed in his bed while he slept rocked the city of Winnipeg. He died three days later and as news of this horrific crime came to light and the history of Intimate Partner Violence between the child's mother and his killer came to light. The keyboard warriors of social media went on the attack looking to place blame. 

But this tragic story isn't about blame. It's about responsibility - OUR responsibility as a society to keep the conversations going so that we can bridge the gaps that failed this child and this family and prevent another tragedy from ever happening again.

Domestic violence and abuse has not disappeared from our communities, we just don't talk about it - and if we don't talk about it, we can never fix it.

So - let's talk. Now.
