Sermon from Sunday, August 24, 2014 on Matthew 16:13-20

In this sermon I focused on Jesus' choice to use Peter as a foundation for the church on account of his faith. However, the foundation of this church seems to be flawed at times because division and dissension have been a part of the church's identity from the beginning. I point out that a major cause for this is that many church leaders through time have focused on the authority which Jesus' gives to Peter to "bind and loose" sins over the faith that Peter exhibited.
