It’d been a trying week; he’d gone to sleep hungry each night, in underpasses and shop doorways, desperate to save the cash he left and lacking the energy to hustle. Today he’d woken up smiling though, counting down the minutes before he could take the phone call at Sandro’s house. He was certain the person on the other end would sound so content and full of joy that it’d lift him from his own despondence.'
