About Ira Kiourti:

Ira Kiourti, PhD, (D.F.Astrol.S., Cl.Hyp., MLitt, MPhil, RTT, Cert.Psych.Astrol.) is a professional astrologer with 30+ years experience. She is a Doctor of Philosophy, specialising in Logic and Metaphysics (University of St Andrews), an RTT therapist, and has attained the prestigious Diploma of the Faculty of Astrological Studies (FAS) in London. 

Ira took her first astrology class at age 12 and was already doing charts for friends and family at age 15. She went on to study with Liz Green and Charles Harvey at the Centre of Psychological Astrology (CPA) in the 90s, attaining their Certificate. She concurrently completed a BA(Hons) in Fine Art, at Chelsea Art College, then went on to work in the film and TV production industry, whilst continuing her astrology practice. 

At age 29 Ira returned to University to fulfil a lifelong dream of studying Philosophy. Starting with a conversion Masters at the University of Glasgow, she moved onto the demanding MLitt programme at the University of St Andrews, where she finally attained her PhD, under multiple scholarship awards. Ira went on to publish and teach Philosophy (Logic and Metaphysics) both at St Andrews and at the London School of Economics (LSE). Back in London, Ira returned to the study of astrology, eventually completing her Faculty Diploma, and becoming a member of the International Association of Professional Astrologers (APAI). Seeking out further techniques to help her clients, Ira concurrently trained as an RTT therapist and clinical hypnotherapist. Besides seeing clients, Ira spent years ghost-writing astrological content (copy) before finally creating her own site, YourAstroGenes.
