ESPN doesn't have to say it with words. It shows it with actions. Try to appease a demographic that wasn't even watching the tournament because Juju Watkins was injured and Angel Reese was no longer in college, ESPN simply removed 2024 comparisons from anything, erased any mention of the monstrous TV numbers the 2024 tournament did because of Caitlin Clark. Instead, they compared everything to 2023 which was actually because of Clark too or even going back to comparing this tournament to 1995.
