The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital provides mainstream eye, ear, nose and throat medical services to the public of Victoria, including patients with a disability.

In this episode, the guest speaker, Joey, shares a comprehensive range of accessible services and facilities available in the Eye and Ear Hospital which support patients with disability to access the required eye and ear medical services more easily. With the appropriate treatments and supports, patients with hearing or vision impairment may be able to improve their quality of life and wellbeing. In the interview, Joey also reminds us about the importance of having regular check-ups which may help detect problems at an early stage.

About the guest speaker

Joey comes from Hong Kong. He is the Cantonese interpreter and one of the Quality and Risk coordinators at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. He thinks that interpreter is a meaningful job, as he can bridge the cultural gap between people. 

Joey feels that traditional Chinese festivals have become more and more important to him although he is now living in Australia. He likes to celebrate festivals with a group of friends. Joey is passionate about Cantonese culture, and he is devoted to promote Cantonese songs.
