A great article sent to me from my therapist. I highly suggest reading for anyone dealing with a difficult parent/parents.Â
Remember... sometimes and many times, your struggles have far more meaning. When you take time to seek therapy... is when you find answers. You can't blame yourself all the time, so please don't.

The bar has been set so low to be a parent that so long as you don’t do anything that kills your kids, hey, we’re not gonna judge you, because that’s mean.
Well, I’m calling bullshit.
I can and will judge you as a parent, because your choices as a parent have consequences, both for your kids and for all the people your kids (who grow up to be adults) will come into contact with over the course of their life.
That includes marriage, lifetime partner/s.
Here is a list of signs that, in my opinion and many in the field of psychology/trauma therapy, show you aren’t ready to be a parent.
You should either fix them before you have kids or, if you’re already a parent, get on top of them and sort yourself out so you don’t bring damaged people into the world. Or continue damaging those kids, who are now adults.
