Ireland can achieve its environmental ambitions if it aggressively takes up renewables, says Billy Kelleher. The European Parliament is expected to this week vote for a renewables target of at least 45 per cent of energy consumption by 2030. Ireland’s overall renewable energy share in 2020 was 13.5 per cent, according to the Sustainable Energy Authority. But Fianna Fáil MEP, Billy Kelleher, is confident that there will be a massive increase in renewables in the years ahead.
