Market Close 17 Oct 16: ASX 200 closes at the day’s low

The selling intensified in late trade, with the ASX 200 finishing the session down 0.8%. Consumer discretionary, Healthcare and Utilities were the worst performers, while the IT and Real Estate sectors finished flat.
