Mid-Session 5 Nov 2021: ASX 200 gains ground, closes in on record highs

The ASX 200 opened Friday on a confident note rising by just over 0.6% at the best levels of the morning. Miners, Telecoms and Utilities were among the most improved sectors. Energy lagged reflecting a fall in oil prices overnight.
