EU Member States Face New Renewable Energy Targets After Overnight Agreement - Kelly

A renewable energy target of 32 per cent by 2030 has been set for EU member states following overnight discussions in Strasbourg. 

The agreement reached at 4am, will also require Member States to aim for a target of 14 per cent renewable energy in the transport sector. 

That includes incentives for electric vehicles and advanced biofuels. 

Ireland South MEP, Sean Kelly, says a clear message is being sent to industry and businesses:
