US Close 28 Oct 16: U.S. markets lower, twitter higher after job cuts and 10yr bonds higher.

US sharemarkets were weaker on Thursday as rising bond yields reduced the attraction of equities. Investors continued to digest earnings results as well as economic data. Profits of S&P 500 companies have generally beaten market expectations so far in the earnings season and aggregate earnings are expected to be up 2.2% on a year ago. The Dow Jones index fell by 30 points or 0.2% after holding in a 104 point trading range. The S&P 500 index fell by 0.3% while the Nasdaq eased by 34 points or 0.7%.
