”Victim” or Persecutor?

Have you ever noticed there’s a particular kind of person who always seems to be stuck in some downward spiral of problems? 

And then we roll in with our rescuer hat and saviour complex to finally be that person that proves to them the world is a lovely and wonderful place… Only to have it play out but somehow we wind up accused of being the bad guy despite all efforts to the contrary.
