Irish MEP Sean Kelly believes there is a real desire to strike a Brexit deal between the EU and the UK.
His comments come after the European Union’s Chief negotiatior, Michel Barnier, indicated agreement could be reached in six to eight weeks.
The Irish border has been a key issue in discussions to date on Britain’s departure from the EU.
