America's corporate welfare system to enrich the elite

Lisa Conyers is an author, economist and consultant who has focused her attention on explaining complex economic issues, such as federal and state spending, for the general public. Her expertise is in welfare, taxes, trade and banking policies, the failures of foreign aid and the perils of regulatory over-reach. Lisa spent eight years traveling around the country to gather stories for two books co-authored with philanthropist Phil Harvey -- who tackles the problems of global hunger -- that address welfare issues. The most recent is "Welfare for the Rich: How Your Tax Dollars End Up in Millionaires Pockets and What You Can Do About It." Both have been the subject of PBS documentaries.
