The Compliment - Always Say Thank You!

How do you handle praise? I rarely dealt with professional approval in the right way. I mismanaged many personal and professional compliments.  Please do not do what I did for so many years. When someone says something kind to you, respond in a friendly, positive way. If you are at a loss for words, say two, "Thank you!" 

I am dedicating this episode, "The Compliment," to John Wallace. A former anchorman and a friend. John gave me one of my first compliments for my reporting, and of course, I botched my response. I appreciate him so much for helping me feel more confident. He passed away not long ago and I still think of him often.
